Quisqueya (pronounced Kiskeya) means "Mother of all lands" in the Taíno language, who were the indigenous people living in the island when the Spanish arrived, thus making it the first permanent Spanish settlement in the Americas. 

​Christopher Columbus' first voyage to the island dates to 1492 and Quisqueya became the catapult for the Spanish crown to make other Caribbean conquests.

​Santo Domingo, the Capital of the Dominican Republic, was the first city in the Americas and continues to boast incredible Spanish Architecture, maintaining a close bond to its European roots. 

​Blessed with both the Caribbean Sea (south) and the Atlantic Ocean (north), this Caribbean island is one of the planets most diverse countries in geography, culture and people. Our culture is made of a mix of Taíno, European and African backgrounds, which through history have welcomed communities including Jewish, Japanese and UNESCO-proclaimed Afro-Caribbean groups. With countless species of flora and fauna including cacti flowers, endemic hawks and humpback whales, our biodiversity is second to none. This island is never shy of beautiful sights.

    CEO | FOUNDER

    Our founder and driving force behind Bonvidó! Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Sergio has always been an avid traveler, initially through the entire island and then his studies and career have had him move to Switzerland, Scotland, France, Dubai, Romania and Spain.

    His international work and travel experiences showed him the potential there is back in his home country and the lack of knowledge about the island pushed him towards founding Bonvidó with the aim to provide discerning and affluent travelers with an authentic travel experience in the Dominican Republic.

  • Victor J. Fondeur

    COO | CO-FOUNDER

    Our operational mastermind, and a Civil Engineer by career Victor is born in Cigar Country (Santiago de los Caballeros) and hence you will always find him with a cigar in hand. Victor spends most of his time in his car and his phone solving operational challenges talking to the right contacts and consistently exploring the country for new and exciting activities.

    He has been essential in developing some of our key experiences and is never shy of taking risks for creative “wow” factors.

    MARKETING & SALES MANAGER

    The visual eye behind the vision of the company Andrea has been with us since the beginning of this adventure. Originally from Venezuela and based out of Madrid, Andrea has been a key member of the team and has led many of our visual projects from developing our Villa portfolio with Sergio to coordinating photographers, videographers and local heroes to bring our message our guests through text, website and social feeds.

    The energetic soul of the company you will always find her with a big smile and full of motivation.

    OPERATIONS MANAGER

    ‘Kat’ as known to us and our guests is a hotelier by career and lives in Santo Domingo our Capital! She is the person that talks the most with our guests and keeps their itineraries in check in every destination within the country. Passionate about nature, she is a hiker, a camper and a conservation enthusiast.

    Kat is the patient and calm voice every team needs and every traveler welcomes.

    Yeily is our brilliant Admin/Finance mastermind, who brings a wealth of expertise to the team. She is a natural morning person, who thrives on high energy and enthusiasm to tackle any challenge that comes her way. Yeily is highly organized and loves to plan both her personal and professional life down to the smallest detail. Her passion for trying out new restaurants and discovering peaceful spots keeps her constantly exploring and discovering new things.

    One of Yeily’s greatest assets is her strong character and inquisitive mind. She believes in asking questions and engaging in conversations to better understand the world around her. Her willingness to explore new ideas and perspectives makes her an invaluable asset to the team, and her positive attitude and dedication to her work serve as an inspiration to all those around her.

    Meet Sofia, our International Sales Manager and the soothing presence within our team. With a wealth of experience gained from her tenure at a Leading Hotel of the World, Sofia plays a pivotal role in spearheading sales efforts, primarily focused on the North American market.

    Her expertise and calm demeanor bring a harmonious equilibrium to our dynamic team, making her an invaluable asset.

We have been fortunate to have had all types of historical influences and you can see that in the way we talk, eat, drink, dance and live. From our Spanish and Afro Caribbean heritage to Jewish and Japanese influence we could not do what we do without the numerous people we work with on a freelance basis.
